Cute story

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell.
He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard.
As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.

"Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."

"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer.

"I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"

"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle. "Here, Dolly!" he called.

Out from the doghouse and down

the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.

Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up...

"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said,
"Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs

would."

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands."

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup.

Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy..

"How much?" asked the little boy... "No charge," answered the farmer, "There's no charge for love."

The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

Day 23 → Something you wish you had done in your life.

Day 23 → Something you wish you had done in your life.

I think my grandfather owned a farm his entire adult life. He believed real men were farmers and in the Military. I think he is right. My mom owns a farm and has for a long time too. When I was 18 I moved in with her and my grandfather gave me three black calves to take care of. I fed them bottles of milk round the clock. Incase you haven't seen a cow bottle you should LOL. (See blog)

Before I graduated I went between being an Radiologist or a Psychologist even thought about seminary for awhile. But I have a hard time working with people sometimes. I want to help them but they just give me lip.LOL After living with my mother one of my calves (I had two females and one male) the male Midnight got sick and had a cyst on his face. My mom and the vet held down the calf while I cut and drained the cyst. That was amazing! There was nervous horse in the stall who had gotten tangled in barbed wire and the other horse who was in heat making the nervous horse in a lot of pain. But I did it. I nursed Midnight back to health. He would come to my window at all hours looking for food. I loved taking care of them. i watched Mighty Joe Young (the newer one) and I decided I really wanted to be a zoologist or a large animal Veterinarian.

There are no zoos in H'ville just a free roam family owned safari so no zoo school for me and my dream didn't die my priority changed. I was called to be a military wife. I completely think that is true. I was called to be step parents to these lost boys and give my daughter more stability and eventually provide for my other two children. My sons. I will also think of Veterinary Medicine fondly and perhaps I will be a Vet tech one day and learn some of the trade. Maybe one day Huntsville will have a zoo (I doubt it) but I am and always have been willing to do the work on a farm or in a clinic or zoo,

Day 5 -- 30 Days of truth

Something I have dreamed about doing since I was young was animal conservation and awareness. I look up to Bindi Irwin (pictured), her late father Steve Irwin, and Jack Hanna.

Oh gosh there is so much I want to do but not a huge goal. I mean I would love a picture portrait worthy house that is functional and organized, I want to continue to try and be a good Christian and further walk with God as well as learning about other faiths. I want to continue to be a good mom and wife and have a wonderful relationship with my husband, step children and the younger three... as well as my extended family and In-Laws.

childhood dreams

As a younger child I wanted to be a psychologist and even asked my youth Minster about going into ministry. With all my medical problems people thought for sure I would be a doctor of medicine. But I really wanted to be a child psychologist or therapist. As an older child I felt God called me toward being a veterinarian. I saw Mighty Joe Young (the newer version) and that's what I wanted to do. Then I lived on my grandfathers farm and he gave me three young calves to take care of. I mean three buckets of formula, three bottles and young black and white cows to tend to. They are AS demanding as a newborn. If one got hungry at Midnight he would moo at my window of my room. The bull named Midnight was the culprit. Then there was Oreo and Seven. I watched them grow to big cows too. Midnight was a sickly fellow as a young calf though. Since he missed the first precious days of having his mothers milk (Formula feeding mothers take note), he ended up getting an infection in his jaw. The vet and my mom had to hold him down while at the age of 18 I had to cut and drain the infection. It didn't scare me. Neither did the horse in the stall nearby who had gotten tangled up in electric fence of barbed wire. Poor guy was in a lot of pain. A mare nearby was also in heat which was driving him crazy. I have been fascinated by big animals and still am. My favorite animal is a dolphin but I couldn't bare for my hands to do a necropsy on one they are just too magical and majestic for human touch. So Marine biology was out. So I wanted to be a veterinarian for a zoo or for large animals, zoologist or a zoo keeper. Jack Hanna and Steve Irwin are my hero's!

Bailey Love

Bailey is my neighbors Collie. Our general observation is that Bailey has chosen me for his pack. He herds me and other crazy stories that I could tell you but alot of people don't believe me till they see him. Including Rick. So I spend time at the neighbors house (Brittany) because she has kids the same ages as mine. Our 7 year olds are "in love" lol perhaps puppy love? haha.
Anyways I told Brittany I was going to start blogging about Bailey's Devotion.

Here are a few ways he has proven his devotion.
I was sitting on the couch and he laid down with his head on my leg and he would nudge me and give me love bites (looking for fleas?) and come in between the baby and myself. I asked Brittany if he thought Bailey would be jealous of even Rick. So next time Rick & I went over and he did kinda growl at Rick but ended up pouting next to Brittany LOL. Just the other day he snuck out of his house and the kids found him in the back yard. Tonight he knew Brittany was coming over & he sprinted across his yard, the street, and through my yard to my house and strutted in my house. The moment I was going to walk with him and Brittany to go back home he started whining. I was trying to give him encouragement but he would come up to me and walk back into my living room. Repeating the process. I finally got him to walk with me and on the way out he had to mark my mailbox to let all the OTHER dogs to back off LOL.

We were going to buy a fence to get a dog but I really don't think Bailey could handle it lol.
